If the problem is that the project settings are not followed but that the 
default settings are, then it means probably that the code was not converted.
So it should be reproducible.

That is because the catalog manager runs msgfmt for each file.

That can be disabled in KBabel 1.11 (for KDE 3.5), even if the reason for 
introducing this option to disable was another reason.
