[Kbabel] kbabel 3.4.* coredumping

Hi folks,

After migrating from kde 3.3.2 to 3.4 series, I'm
experiencing frequent coredumps in kbabel, which seem
to be connected with translation database operations.
Kbabel is coredumping, e.g., after one record in .po
has been updated and advancing to the next record is
attempted. 

I'm using freebsd-4.11 and standard kdelibs, kdebase,
kdesdk packages from freebsdports (3.4, 3.4.2, 3.4.3
-- all versions affected). I also compiled the 3.4.3
variant of the kbabel to no avail. I'm not able to
compile the alternative dbsearch2 plugin, though.

This issue is seriosly obstructing my translations
progress. Is there any possibility of addressing it?
