I would like to take up the project Adding/porting/improving GCompris
activities
for Season Of KDE 2015. GCompris is a great educational software .It has
been designed in a great manner which ensures that children won't get bore
while doing the exercises. I would love to contribute to this software by
adding a couple of activities.
Activities i would like to add;
1.Squares and cubes of numbers
At present there is no such activity which helps children in learning
squares and cubes of numbers .Adding these two activities will make the
maths section more complete .I have made a demo activity for the same .Link
to the demo activity
https://github.com/bdoin/GCompris-qt/pull/93
Something about how the activity would look like
Like the activity "numbers in order" we can have an object (plane or
anything else) which can be moved left and right and will have the ability
to shoot ,from the other side of the screen multiple numbers will come out
and the user will be
required to shoot the right one in order to get the answer right
2.Search feature for the activities in the menu
As there are more than 100 activities it can be a bit tedious to find a
specific one
having this feature would allow people to search for an activity rather
than finding it manually.
About me:

computer science from Delhi University,India. I have a good understanding
of Qt ,c++ and git . I have made an application in Qt,here's the link to my

community by contributing to amarok(music player) and kdevelop (integrated
development environment ),here's the link to patches i have submitted on
reviewboard

patches submitted for kdevelop

Making contributions for KDE have made my understanding of Qt and c++ much
better. This project will be a great experience for me as i will get to
learn many new things and will get a chance to contribute to the project
Thank you,
