I expect they would be in the people category, which shows up blank for
me. I'll have to see about mocking up a file to test, if you don't get
around to it first.

Would work just fine as an identifiable source string IMO.
Having a lang file for this might be OK if you do the translation once,
but for futore changes and maintenance, why not use all the convenient
functions that gettext offer? In my experience, managing changes in lang
files is more extra work. Also, we have three projects using the
translations (art4apps, abecedarium and gcompris), so if all three used
the gettext format, exchanging data would become a lot easier.
