Hum, this is very interesting, let's try some idea :

- Do you have a special character in your user name
  (space, accent, ...)

- Do you have installed other GTK based software or development
  tool in your account. Can you see the difference in the 'export'
  command when run in a bash in your account and in a working account.

I am glad we are progressing on this one.
