Bruno,

I agree that L10n on Gnome is where the Quechua work belongs
(eventually).  I've been on the Gnome i18n list for a while and
understand the Gnome process for adding a lang.  As one of the typical
requirements is the submission of one or more completed PO files for
the establishment of a language team, I see no reason not to make
GCompris one of those files.  The process we might use to get to a
completed GCompris file during the establishment of a language team
could be to host a copy of the GCompris POT locally (for Quechua only)
until it is ready for submission through Gnomes' normal processes.  At
that point, we would cease to maintain a local copy once it is in the
Damned Lies server.

Sugar Labs / OLPC has gotten wonderful cooperation from the Gnome
i18n/L10n community, including the creation of an OLPC release set
tracked on DL, of which gcompris is one element

I have been working on the needed glibc locales using Claude Paroz's
(Gnome L10n lead)  excellent tools for that purpose.

I will consult with Hernan and Aleksey and my other colleagues at
Sugar Labs / OLPC to make sure we guide our process properly through
the upstream's established procedures, so that we can bring the
benefits of GCompris to a new audience speaking Quechua.
