I just upgraded gstreamer and gstreamer0.10-plugins-base in my mandriva 2008.0 
system, and it corrected the problem. Now this is nice!

I've created a bug report on Mandriva asking for this backports:

I also found that they have a packaging problem with voices : they are both in 
main package and in -sounds packages...

I suppose all of you using other distributions should fill similar bugs?
