It's just a matter of taste. It's not usual to include in the cvs
repository directory with space. Not specific to themes.

OK, I got to see the error now. I had it and it disapeared :(
I made some changes that could fix it but I am not sure. At least, there
is now much more traces.
What I add also is the library libgcompris-1.so.0 pointing to an old
installed one. This caused me a lot of problem because whatever I
changed in the code, I was not seing it.
Be sure to remove 
/usr/local/lib/libgcompris*
/usr/lib/libgcompris*
Run make again.

Hope it works now.
