Read the gcompris/boards/sounds/HOWTO_ENCODE in the source code (from
.tgz or cvs).
For the file list, just mimic what's in gcompris/boards/sounds/fr and
under it for all .ogg files.

These are in the CVS and you can get it as explained on the gcompris web
page.
For the commit (putting back in the cvs), you don't need to worry about.
Just send me the files when you are done, I commit for you.

Now for your wife, I can't help, I'm sure you know better than me how

So far, I requested a status the person that proposed himself for the
task last year but did not get an answer. 
I believe he did not work on it so you can go.
