Information from out Mandrake packager:
A brief trnaslation, gcompris is no more on the 3rd CD of the Mandrake
but will be in the contrib CDs that are packaged in the box.
It is still in the cooker also.

That is sad to me. They do not give any reason for that choice.

Perhaps kids app are not their focus...
