Based on what I see, there must be an installation problem on your
system. You are running an uncomplete installation.

Please, remove
/usr/local/share/gcompris
/usr/local/lib/gcompris
/usr/local/bin/gcompris

Check gcompris is not installed in
/usr/share/gcompris
/usr/lib/gcompris
/usr/bin/gcompris

Then reinstall with
make install

Most of your problem should be gone now.

Beside that, the plane with number board should be limited to the first
level 1 to 10. After it is boring and useless.

For the splash, we have not think about it. It may be complex because we
target children that don't read.
On this topic, today we focus on implementing an help on each board.
Some already have it like 'draw', 'fish click' and paratrooper if I
remember well.
To me, the help is more for the teacher than the child that usually find
by themselve what to do ;)

Anyway, please confirm us that it is really an install issue. For
example, the bicycle as been redone by Renaud, you have it in
boards/gcompris/misc/bicycle.png check you have the clean one.

Bruno.
