It's probably associated with your distro,
though
it may well be community maintained now
( mainly compiling the libraries when nomachine
 update their open source code )

Suse seemed to have lost interest,
ubuntu did something last year for "precise" ( whatever that was )
and
I think they got updates from ALT-linux in Russia, who did quite a bit of 
work
but
as Akemi seems to be still keeping Fedora (RHEL Centos) etc going
I would choose that one I guess . . .

Technically I think its 3.3 (from 2008) but i'm not sure how they labled
 each script and mine says the same.

The Ubuntu people upped theirs a version, but there isn't much different
just patches for things which moved . . 

I've got most of the various bits going and put patches in freenx-knx
so if it was all gathered together then it would all work now
but
not many people are interested in the more obscure facilites
and
nomachine are ending support for the libaries

Which distro are you using ???
