NX should work with audio, but I haven't bothered with it
so I don't know if it does . . 

If the machines are next to each other then you can just use vnc
(eg. tightvnc) anyway.

Log in at the first machine's console.

At a command line, run:-
        x11vnc -usepw -display :0

You will need a password in :-

         ~/.vnc/passwd

Which you can set using:-

        x11vnc -storepasswd



Log in to the other machine.
Run:-

        vncviewer server-machine-IP:0
