[FreeNX-kNX] Shadow console mode?

Can someone confirm that it is really possible to make a shadow 
connection to a running console X display with 7.3?  If I tell the 
client I want a vnc connection, I can see the session but if I try to 
connect it opens a black screen and then fails.  I thought the 7.3 
version was supposed to support this.  Have I missed something in the setup?
