maybe George Wright can help, or maybe his posts on http://blog.gwright.org.uk/articles/category/nx/page/2 can help?

I think it's a modified versino of xnest on *nix hosts, and the X-server in cygwin on windows hosts. Macs, I don't know.

Shouldn't the sources of qtnx explain/show this?
