[FreeNX-kNX] Is nxagent still broken on amd64?

I just upgraded to an amd64 machine and have tried building FreeNX 0.7.2
with the 3.2.0 NX libraries. However, when I run "nxnode --agent" locally,
I get the following error:

    NX> 1000 NXNODE - Version 2.1.0-72 OS (GPL, using backend: 3.2.0)
    NX> 716 Starting NX Agent ...

NX> 716 NX Agent exited with status: 1
    NX> 1001 Bye.

As best I can tell, this is a potentially unresolved issue related to
nxagent not being 64-bit clean [1].

Is it still the case that nxagent is known not to work? Or is there a
patch available that fixes the issue that I've missed? Or am I just
completely wrong?

Assuming nxagent is broken, is the right answer just to build a 32-bit
version?

Thanks!
