No! nxesd(.exe) is included in the commercial client.

No, however there is a proxy module in FreeNX SVN with compression.

That is because thats it.

I'll explain:

nxesd is started on client on say port 6000. (automatically via commercial client)

This port is forwarded to the remote machine.

At the remote end if an application connects to:

7000+$DISPLAYNUMBER

Say display=1000 => esd port=8000

So environment has to have:

ESPEAKER=127.0.0.1:8000

Then using any esd capable program "just" works. Sorry, but it is like that.

mplayer -ao esd test.mp3

for example.

You can see that it forwarded a new media connection in ~/.nx/C-$NXSESSIONID/session.

And on client via the corresponding: S-*/session file.

Then sound does work.

And yes it works like that for many people.

So, please for a start, start explaining where your problem really lies. :-)

That is because it is "click it and it works". Sorry, but it can't be simpler.
