[FreeNX-kNX] how to keep a process executing during a suspend

All,

I thought I had done this in the past but am unable to get it to work now.  I
want my process to continue to run while the session is suspended.  So I can
start a job, go home, bring it back up and not loose any time.  I just tried
it and it seems my processes are halted until the connection resumes and then
they run again.  Am I out to lunch?  I swear I did this before... please help
