[FreeNX-kNX] freenx vs. nomachine server performance

    I read the linuxjournal serie about NX and tried Nomachine and 
FreeNX servers, with nomachine client. I noted a big difference between 
it. Nomachine was faster on my tests.

    The server has a 2 Mbit/sec download and upload link. My client (in 
home) is on ADSL 1Mbit/sec down and 128Kbit/sec up. RTT between client 
and server is 50ms.

    Is such difference ever time present?
    Is there some tunning for reach nomachine performance or almost?
    If FreeNX is based on the same core libraries as Nomachine, why such 
difference?
