[FreeNX-kNX] Blank screen when starting XFCE in non-rootless mode

I have a machine running Fedora 8 with the Fedora freenx 0.7.1 and nx
0.2.1 packages. When I connect to the machine and try to run the
/usr/bin/startxfce4 session, I only get a blank screen. When choosing
GNOME, everything works fine. The blank screen does not occur if I
leave rootless mode enabled.

The session's error log file contains:
