[FreeNX-kNX] Optimising for v.high latency (BGAN satellite) connections

Hi all

I'm looking for tips on customising NX client for best performance on
satellite broadband. Bandwidth is fine @ 230kbps symmetric, but the
requirement of bouncing the signal 70,000 km (to go 300km as the crow
flies!) causes some major latency. Ping times are on the order of
1100ms.

NX works, which is an achievement in its own right, but performance is
not good enough to put in front of non-techie users. Any suggestions
on maximising performance under these conditions?
