No. It's on a dell work station. As a recap, the machine I want to
connect to is ubuntu running the freenx server.

In the network where the server is running I have a windows xp home
machine running the windows client 1.5 version. This machine does not
have cygwin on it. I can connect fine to the server from this machine.
