[FreeNX-kNX] Problem with NX Client on Knoptix

I am using Knoptix as a base system to connect clients to a K12LTSP
terminal server using NX Client. The problem is with sound. It just
doesn't work. On Knoptix the sound system is running fine but nothing
comes trough the client. I conclude it must be a client side error as
windows based clients running nx client have sound without any problems.
Any ideas as I don't want to use windows?
