[FreeNX-kNX] n00b Q: How do you connect to the root "console" session from remote?

Yes, it can.

Just connect to the RDP session using the "Windows" desktop type in the
NX Client...

Oh wait... you want to connect to a running X session from a different
machine, using NX Client?   ;-P

That's not possible currently.

As a workaround, you could start your local X using a minimal X11 
window manager environment, from which you start NX Client and connect 
to "localhost" for your full Gnome or KDE session. *That* session you
can pick up from any remote place that can ssh-connect to your original
box. If you need that regularly, just make it a habit to run your local
X via NX....
