Hi Tim,
The freenx server is looking for the X11 rgb in /usr/lib/X11, but in
Dapper rgb lives in /etc/X11. So the fix is to create a link from one
to the other:
sudo ln -s /etc/X11/rgb.txt /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt

I am getting trying to use freenx on Ubuntu Dapper.
I have loaded on the target
freenx 0.4.4+0.4.5-4
nxagent 1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1
nxclient 1.5.0-141
nxdesktop 1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1
nxlibs 1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1
nxviewer 1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1
And loaded on the client
nclient 1.5.0-141
I can log in fine and the gnome desktop comes up fine but when I use
xterm I get a message 'Warning: Color name "black" is not defined', and
I get the errors "Cannot allocate color xxx" when running an ncurses
application in xterm over freenx.
I end up with a solid black window in which the app is running.
Any ideas as to how to fix this problem? Is it a colormap problem? If so
can that be configured. I see on the Nomachine site that there are
options for setting a colormap, does anyone have ideas on how that might
be done?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Tim Jackson
