I encountered the same problem with Ubuntu Breezy. After i raised the
debugging level in /etc/nxserver/nxnode.cnf to NX_LOG_LEVEL=7, the error
messages were pointing to missing fonts: 'Could not find default font
fixed' or something like that. Since there was a major X renewal in
Breezy i adapted the font path in nxnode.cnf to the ones found in
xorg.conf:

AGENT_EXTRA_OPTIONS_X="-fp /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc/,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/cyrillic/,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/Type1/,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/CID,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/Speedo/,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi/,
/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi/"

This made FreeNX work on Breezy for me.
