Well, after playing around with the configuration file
for the last 3 days, I've determined, it's not even
being used :(

I edited /usr/NX/etc/node.conf, restart nxserver, and
I'm not getting any of the preferences showing up when
I use nomachine client.

For example, loading a default window manager (if I
choose custom, always uses twm (i believe it's twm).
Even when I enable unix-custom and set it to xfce4:
ENABLE_DEFAULT_X_WM="1"
ENABLE_DEFAULT_X_WM_KILL="0"
DEFAULT_X_WM=/usr/bin/xfce4-session

In !Machine client I choose "unix custom" and then
check "Run the default X client script on server".

This always brings up twm, no matter what I do.

I also tried the default xinitrc settings (to no
avail):

USER_X_STARTUP_SCRIPT=.xinitrc
DEFAULT_X_SESSION=/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc

Anybody get this to work? It's like it's completely
ignoring the free-nx conf files. The only way I can
get the window manager I want is by specifiying the
path in the !machine client: "Run the following
command" equal to "xcfe4-session" (this is not ideal
though).
