[FreeNX-kNX] How to use FreeNX as Surfstation for Windows Users?

If you don't want a full KDE desktop, then you probably shouldn't use
KDE. You can use a much smaller window manager such as IceWM. Look
here for Firefox kiosks:
http://php.unc.edu/ovcsa/payst/

Your linux distro could be thinstation with IceWM and Firefox, and not
even use freenx. If you really want freenx, thinstation could still be
your "distro".
