The network must be functional within 2-3 weeks, so waiting is not an 
option.

LTSP is a collection of tools and programs. It will help you to 
configure all necessary services ( as DHCP, NFS, TFTP, etc ) and 
provides you with a mini-kernel for the network boot. Everything you 
need to run a complete thin client network on the top of the 
distribution of your choice.

You convinced me: I'll have a look at PXES first.
