Fixes for the accidental menu padding

Hi!

If you and/or your users have been annoyed with the recent fix
I made for the menu paddings, apologies. I cherrypicked the
fix in too early by accident and we found out that it was not exactly correct yet.

We have two more patches for those that should make them much less thicc.

With those applied they still are bit more thicker than before, but
they have no extra paddings that they have now.
