formats HIF et CR3

Hello,
I just bought a Canon R5 MkII. When I download the photos taken on my
laptop, the previews of the photos in *.HIF format do not display correctly
in thumbnail mode. This is true on my Windows (laptop) and GNU Linux
(Manjaro distribution) machines. However, support for this format seems to
have been available since at least version 7.8.
Support for the CR3 format is not much better... yet it has been supported
since Digikam 7.1.

Could there be something wrong with my settings?
