Removing erroneous face tags

Is there any way to scan face tags and, if they do not demarcate an actual face, get rid of them? I have several hundred files that contain face tags that aren't anywhere near a face. I certainly didn't put these in manually, so I'm guessing they were from a previous (possibly long ago) botched face recognition run. Thanks for any insight.
