Latest Version 8.6.0 Download - fails on my widows 10 system

Having Spotted in another post that the new stable version is available 
I attempted to download it automatically going via the Help Menu then

The Online Version Checker Window opened
The appeared to go to the start of download, then immediately switched 
to saying

Error while trying to download digikam
stable version 8.6.0:

"Connection closed"


I closed the window using the close button and tried again, same response.
I am on an up to date Windows 10 platform 64 intel processor.
