<p>Having Spotted in another post that the new stable version is
available I attempted to download it automatically going via the
Help Menu then <br>

<p>The Online Version Checker Window opened<br>
The appeared to go to the start of download, then immediately
switched to saying</p>
<p>Error while trying to download digikam<br>
stable version 8.6.0:</p>
<p>"Connection closed"<br>
</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>I closed the window using the close button and tried again, same
response.<br>
I am on an up to date Windows 10 platform 64 intel processor.<br>
