No sound on videos?

Hi Todd,

I saw your post on Reddit, but I haven't yet taken time to respond. Sorry.

I also use a macbook pro M1 (not M3) to store video and photos. My
video comes from an Iphone 15 pro, and the sound is played well.

Check in DK/Setup/Misc/System which décoding backend is used to render video :

https://docs.digikam.org/en/setup_application/miscs_settings.html#system-settings

Ffmpeg must be the default backend, but with problematic format, the
AVFoundation can be used instead (Apple framework). It can require 3rd
party codecs to install on the system (ffmpeg as all in one).

Best

I imported a bunch of videos and was about to start tagging them when I noticed all of them have no sound. I checked the files in finder and there the sound is ok, but in Digikam everything plays without sound.
