Image Quality Sorter

It feels like I’ve seen this issue brought up previously, but I can’t find the answer so,…

I’m using macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Digikam 8.4 installed with brew.

When I run Image Quality Sorter I select Scan Non-assigned Only and go with the Default settings otherwise. No matter how recently I’ve run it (in this case just yesterday), it still seems to be scanning and recomputing all images. In this case I did it yesterday and it took several hours. Today, I did it having added 14 images. That should have been pretty fast, right? But, it took just as long.

Am I doing something wrong that causes it to rescan everything every time I run it?
