Hi,
To be more precise, we dropped qtav code from digiKam a while ago.
The Qt6 is based on QtMultimedia now.
https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/qtmultimedia-index.html
The Qt5 uses another Qt ffmpeg wrapper named qtavplayer which rewrites
the unmaintained qtav and drops plenty of unused features/widgets.
https://github.com/valbok/QtAVPlayer
We are in contact with the qtavplayer and code is maintained. But it's
for only the Qt5, and days are numbers. Qt6 is the future, we are in a
transition stage.
Best
