how to add copyright in RAW

Hi all

some of my camera can be configured with copyrights information in 
parameters and then RAW are imported with such information included, but 
some not
So I wanted to update RAW in DK when missing. I found the tools "Edit 
metadata" that make the job, but it creates a new version of the RAW file

Is there another way to update the metadata of the RAW without creating 
a new version ? is there a way to update it during import for example ?
