Custom map solution needed in digikam

Hi Benjamin,

I have used the following to add reference points to a DK map: Use an image editor to create jpegs of type on a plain background “point one” and then add geolocation info to that jpg in DK, then display those images on the map alongside the hero photos. For me it was only a few reference points, not hundreds like in your case.

I have seen colleagues drop photos onto MyMaps using Google Photos Albums as well, so you could export to Google Photos from Digikam and populate your map that way. I haven't tried that route, and like everything MyMaps, its continued functionality is subject to the whims of Google.

Probably not the expert solutions you're looking for, but hopefully helpful.
