sidecar file names

just made few test today
"sidecar file names are compatible with commercial product" set to OFF,
run a maintenance tool on a test folder : synchronize from database to
image metadata
result is
DJI_0638.DNG
DJI_0638.xmp
DJI_0638.DNG.xmp (created by the maintenance run)
Digikam is using the one which is dependent of the parameter, so "no
problem" , but I'm using another photo editor (DXO) which require the
DJI_0638.xmp to be removed
seems workable , but it will require lots of time to create those new
xmp (DJI_0638.DNG.xmp) and also it will require to remove the previous
xmp (DJI_0638.xmp) which may not be easy under windows
any such experience ?
thanks
frederic
