Problem with special (accented) charcacters

Thanks for answering.

The problem is entering those characters in any input field, not displaying
them; I can write, say, "Álvaro" in any external program, then copy / paste
it as a person tag in Digikam, and the program will display that tag
correctly. In fact this is the only way I can use to enter tags or search
for words with accents, which is really annoying.

I'm using SQLite
