Face Detection: merging tags?

Hello,

I got into a situation where I accidentally created two tags for the same 
person -- I misspelt the name initially, then later created a second tag with 
the right spelling.

I want to basically "merge" the tags.  Let's say they are A and B.  I was able 
to move all the images under "B" to "A".  Then I deleted tag A.  However, 
after later face detections, I found that "B" was resurrected with some new 
images.  

How can I achieve the merge or even just delete a face tag?
