DB performance and consistency

Does anyone have advises concerning the perf DB to use for the best perf ?
I'm new user testing DK and I'm using internal MySQL (with MariaDB) with a
first collection of images (about 170K photos) to begin (objective is 300K).
I will switch to SQLite with WAL to check if perf are better, it takes more
than 1 hour freezed after clicking on similar view (with MariaDB using all
CPU inside DK).
With DK 8.4, is there is way/tools to check consistency of the DB ?
