Thumbnail suddenly turned green

Hello,

 

Are your photos on an external drive? And did you create the collection as 

such? No to both questions.

 

Or did you move the images/change a directory name outside digikam? No

 

Those weird thumbnails mean there's no thumbnail in the cache, and the 

underlying image cannot be found. It does not mean those images have 

disappeared

 

Originally, all of the photos in this album were displayed with thumbnails
properly. After reopening the application, dozens of the thumbnails have
this attribute, although all but one currently exist in the subdirectory.
I'm puzzled as to why the sudden change, and how to remedy the issue.
