How to read metadata from files in folders and sub-folders ?

Hi everybody !

I would like to know if there is a way to read metadata from files in 
folders and sub-folders.

The only way I found to read metadata from files is to select all of the 
files of a folder (album) and then use the Item/re-read metadata from 
selected files.

Doing so, I need to open every album and folder.

I would like to do so for my photo collection in one go if possible.
