[digiKam-users] xmp sidecar files for tiff files

I assign rating to my tiff images in digiKam. I have also set digiKam to 
write metadata to xmp files only for read only files. It used to work 
fine and the original tiff files used to be modified with the rating data.

However, today I notices that when I assigned a rating to a tiff file, 
an xmp file was generated! I don't remember changing anything in the 
settings. What could be the reason for this sudden change. The tiff file 
is not read only.

Operating environment: Windows 11, digiKam 7.7.0
