Bonjour Jean-Pierre,
I am pleased to see that you have invested a lot of time to translate the documentation in French. I could help you in the review of the translated documents if you were interested. I would like to prepare a few video tutorials in French for the francophone community on how to use DigiKam. Is it possible to communicate with you ( en français évidemment) to discuss with you? Gilles Caulier, would you also be interested in being part of the discussion to provide advice on the video tutorials?
See Carafife videos as an example, he has produced and incredible set of high-quality video tutorials on ART and DarkTable and other applications. See https://www.youtube.com/user/carafife/videos?reload=9&app=desktop
Best regards
Michel

Hi Jean Pierre and welcome.
I will respond to your mail in the mailing list with more details during this long weekend. I'm also French, living in the south near Aix en Provence.
My time is limited actually in my office, this is why this response is short.
So, à plus tard...
Best
Gilles Caulier
Note: Please only write in English in the mailing, to share your experience with all people present, else, it's more complicated. You can talk with me by private mail in French if you can , I always respond even if this can take time.

They concern the tools of the image editor (some tools work perfectly, some lack ergonomics, some others are enigmatic ...), I find that for the classification part there is practically nothing to say except maybe the possibility of having a sort key on the search elements.

Directly with digiKam in Image Editor, the Insert Text do not provide this feature.
It's the same in BQM, except with the External Script plugin, where you can call ImageMagick for ex to superimpose text information extracted from image metadata.
This BQM tool can call a bash script and deal with image processed in batch.
