That's strange, because I just tested the behaviour with 7.7.0 (appimage). 
When filtering on "none" picklabel, items *do* disappear from the selection 
when I add a picklabel to them. I did that with the filter pane open and 
changing the pick label through keyboard short-cuts. Perhaps that plays a 
role?
