[digiKam-users] Small window to select albums

I am trying to set up some defined searches and keep coming up against the
difficulty of selecting folders. The window shows 11 lines, I think, but I
have hundreds, probably thousands of folders. It takes forever to find
anything.
Am I missing some simple method?
Am using Version 7.5.0 on PC.
