Hi Maik,
Not sure if I follow:
I am on kubuntu jammy (22.04) and have both vlc and digikam natively
installed:
ii vlc 3.0.16-1build7 amd64 multimedia player and
streamer
ii digikam 4:7.5.0-3fakesync1 amd64 digital photo
management application for KDE
it's not the latest greatest though.
